Benefits Of Branded Merchandise
Some of the benefits of using branded merchandise in experimental campaign ideas
- Enhanced Brand Recognition
Branded merchandise helps to keep your brand top-of-mind. When customers use items with your logo or slogan, it reinforces brand recognition and recall.
- Increased Customer Loyalty
Giving away branded merchandise can create a sense of appreciation and loyalty among customers. It shows that you value their support and are willing to give something back.
- Cost-Effective Marketing
Compared to traditional advertising, branded merchandise can be a cost-effective way to promote your brand. Items like pens, mugs, and t-shirts have a long shelf life and can be used repeatedly, providing ongoing exposure.
- Enhanced Customer Engagement
Experimental campaigns that involve branded merchandise can engage customers in a fun and interactive way. For example, contests or giveaways can generate excitement and encourage participation.
- Word-of-Mouth Promotion
When customers receive branded merchandise, they often share their experiences with friends and family, either in person or on social media. This can lead to organic word-of-mouth promotion, expanding your brand’s reach.
- Positive Brand Association
High-quality branded merchandise can create a positive association with your brand. When customers receive useful and well-made items, they are more likely to view your brand favourably.
- Targeted Marketing
Branded merchandise can be tailored to specific demographics or customer segments. This allows you to create targeted marketing campaigns that resonate with particular groups.
- Measurable Impact
The success of campaigns using branded merchandise can be measured through various metrics, such as increased website traffic, social media engagement, and sales. This data can help refine future marketing strategies.
- Versatility
Branded merchandise can be used in a variety of settings, from trade shows and conferences to online promotions and direct mail campaigns. This versatility makes it a valuable tool in any marketing strategy.
- Building Community
Using branded merchandise in campaigns can help build a sense of community among your customers. It can foster a feeling of belonging and connection to your brand.
A stand out branded merchandise campaign we worked on was Adidas x Stella McCartney’s Introduction To The Fitness Industry:
Branded skipping rope concept from a collaboration between Adidas and Stella McCartney to promote a new footwear range with the aim to help position Stella McCarney within the fitness industry.
Wurlin received the client’s brief which included bespoke packaging to present the branded, custom-made skipping rope that could be stacked up and presented at retail to display the product and form part of the in-store display.
We supplied made to order skipping ropes with Pantone matched foam handles, rope and packaging, which contributed to bringing this campaign alive.
Customised packaging for branded skipping rope
Custom-made packaging included Pantone matched top and bottom lids that encapsulated a clear printed container to display the product. Printed front and back with the Pantone-matched logo one side and 1 colour print white on the reverse.
The product was a Pantone matched branded skipping rope with brand colour foam handles with hard plastic tops which could be unscrewed to adjust the length of the rope and then returned to close off the handle and keep the rope end inside secure.
Colour-matched rope is a combination of blue and green. Rolled up and secured inside the bespoke presentation packaging with an elastic band to keep shape for presentation.

Red Bull is known for its extreme sports sponsorships and events. They often distribute branded merchandise like hats, t-shirts, and energy drinks at these events. This not only promotes the brand but also aligns it with an adventurous and energetic lifestyle3.
Google’s Swag at Conferences
Google is famous for giving away high-quality branded merchandise at tech conferences. Items like t-shirts, water bottles, and tech gadgets are popular among attendees and help keep the brand top-of-mind long after the event4.
